Yasou!
Welcome to the Greek Festival 2008 Web Site. We
hope you find all the necessary information to help you
enjoy the festival.
This year we
will be celebrating our 6th Greek Festival at, The Oleika Shrine Temple on Southland
Drive. We have expanded hours and will be open on
Friday night from 5 - 9.
See and learn traditional Greek dances and enjoy the Greek
music of Lazaros Glendi band (includes Bouzouki, bass guitar
and drums). Enjoy entertaining games,
shop at the Greek market place
and activities
for children.
There will also be a fabulous Silent Auction with many
items. This year we will be featuring hand painted
Greek Art.
Each item offered is a work of art by hand. Each painting
has been carefully chosen to allow the viewer to feel as if
he or she were in Greece. Each ceramic item delicately
painted by skilled artists to produce an item worthy of use
in Ancient Greece. Every Icon is created with the same
reverence to God that the Monks of Mount Athos have
displayed for centuries.
Taste the very best of Greek food including Gyros, Souvlaki,
Roast Lamb, Greek Chicken, Pastitsio, Spanakopita (Spinach
Pie) and Greek Salads. At our Pastry Shop enjoy famous
Greek pastries including Baklava, Chocolate Baklava, Kourambiethes (Greek wedding cookies), Kataifi,
Finikia, and Baklava Sundaes.
Spend three days in Greece without leaving Lexington.
